PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverberation restraining device capable of restraining a reverberation component even when a distance from a microphone to a sound source varies using one microphone.SOLUTION: A reverberation restraining device 6 has: a reverberation characteristic calculation section 11 for calculating reverberation characteristics according to an impulse response of a route of sounds from a sound output section to a sound input section found by a first sound signal and a second sound signal indicating sounds generated by collecting the first sound signal reproduced by the sound output section 8 by means of the sound input section 4; a distance estimation section 12 for estimating a distance from the sound input section to a sound source on the basis of at least one of a sound volume and frequency characteristics of a third sound signal indicating sounds generated by collecting the sound from the sound source by the sound input section; a reverberation characteristic correction section 13 for correcting the reverberation characteristics to be larger as an estimation value of the distance gets larger; and a reverberation restraining section 14 for attenuating the third sound signal as a difference between a frequency spectrum of the third sound signal and a frequency spectrum of the reverberation component estimated according to the corrected reverberation characteristics is smaller.
