A brightness enhancement film (100) comprises a substrate (120) and a prism structure layer (108). The substrate (120) has a first optical surface (106) and a second optical surface (104). The prism structure layer (108) is disposed on the first optical surface (106). The prism structure layer (108) comprises multiple prism structure units that are arranged in a predetermined direction to form a prism structure unit array. Each prism structure unit has a predetermined cross section shape so that a valley is defined between prism side surfaces of adjacent prism structure units. A scatterer (120) is disposed in the valley. The prism structure unit comprises a first prism structure unit (112A) and a second prism structure unit (112B). The first prism structure unit (112A) has a pointed top, and the second prism structure unit (112B) has a pointless top. The distance from the top of the second prism structure unit (112B) to the first optical surface (106) is greater than the distance from the top of the first prism structure unit (112A) to the first optical surface (106).
