PURPOSE: A bidirectional transceiver and a method thereof are provided to reduce the circuit implementation cost and time. CONSTITUTION: A bidirectional data transceiver circuit (12) has a first and a second input/output terminal and a first and a second input terminal. A comparator (40) has the first and the second input terminal and the output terminal. The comparator combines the first input terminal with the first input/output terminal of the bidirectional transceiver circuit and combines the second input terminal with the second input/output terminal of the bidirectional transceiver circuit. A directional flag (44) has the input terminal and the first output terminal. The directional flag combines the input terminal with the output terminal of the comparator.
