A hybrid vehicle control apparatus according to the present invention minimizes a decrease in output torque or deterioration in fuel economy at the start of an engine when the temperature in the engine compartment is increased by heat dissipated from the engine and the like in an engine stopped period during an intermittent operation. The hybrid vehicle control apparatus performs motoring without conducting fuel injection in the engine when the intake air temperature is increased upon demand for starting the engine during the intermittent operation.
