Provided are a game control device, a game control method, program and recording medium, and a game system that enable a player to have a felt-sense of the number of users who are logged in at the same time. The game control device controls the execution of a game by a communication terminal according to the access from communication terminals operated by users. The game control device is provided with: an acquiring means for acquiring information about access from a communication terminal by a user; a calculating means for calculating the number of users accessing within a prescribed period on the basis of the access information acquired by the acquiring means; and a display control means for widening the area that a first user who is playing a game can see on the game image the larger the number of users calculated by the calculating means.
