PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an effect on environment in measuring elevator speed.SOLUTION: A speed measurement device for an elevator includes: an imaging part that supports a car and images an image in a dark view filed of a support member moving according to the movement of the car; and a calculation part that calculates the speed of the car based on the image in the dark view field.
