PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a regenerated carbon fiber by which an industrially practical high quality regenerated carbon fiber can be continuously taken out from a waste CFRP, energy required to thermally decompose the waste CFRP can be minimized and explosion of an unburnt gas produced by the thermal decomposition of a matrix resin of the waste CFRP cannot occur.SOLUTION: The inside of a kiln body 3 of a rotary kiln 1a is heated to a thermal decomposition treatment temperature of a matrix resin by a heating burner 6, a charge port shutter in a state closed to meet a charge timing is opened to charge a waste CFRP 9a from a charge part 4a and the matrix resin is thermally decomposed while the waste CFRP is transported to the outlet side of the kiln body to obtain a thermal decomposition treatment residue 9b comprising a carbon fiber. When the thermal decomposition treatment residue reaches a discharge port 51b of the kiln body, a discharge port shutter 52 in a state closed to meet a discharge timing is opened to discharge the thermal decomposition treatment residue from the discharge port. |
