[Also in Group VIII] A conveyer for distributing articles in a laundry (see Group VIII), comprises an endless rail 12 from which a series of carrying racks 11 are suspended. The racks 11 each have open shelves 15, and are interconnected by a continuously-driven chain 14. Articles ready for packing, are removed from the racks 11 to a sorting rack (Fig. 3, not shown). This comprises a vertically-extending series of shelves divided longitudinally by a central, vertical, partition, into a series of open sorting shelves which face the conveyer, and a similar series of shelves which are open to the opposite direction and are adjacent a packing table 25 (Fig. 1, not shown).
