The invention relates to the cooperage, namely to a barrel for storage and aging of wines and alcoholic distillates.The barrel, according to the invention, is assembled from semi-elliptically curved wooden staves, having their ends arranged around two bottoms and strapped together to one another by means of hoops, at the same time at least a part of staves are made with a decreasing thickness from one end to another. The staves with decreasing thickness are arranged around the bottoms unidirectionally or with alternation of the thick and thin ends, or their alternation with conventional staves. |
