PURPOSE: A system for controlling multiple PTZ(Pan, Tilt, Zoom) cameras based on an intelligent multi-object tracking algorithm and a method thereof is provided to integrate PTZ surveillance cameras and a wireless sensor network technology for obtaining image information of various angles within an effective range of photographing, thereby protecting one or more key assets or equipment against stealing, loss or damage. CONSTITUTION: A wireless sensor network data processor(62) of a central processing module(60) receives location information of security target objects. A multi-object tracking algorithm processor(64) produces a control value for a PTZ camera module(10) using the location information. A PTZ camera data processor(66) transmits the control value to a PTZ camera control module(20). The PTZ camera control module controls the PTZ camera module to photograph to the direction corresponding to the location information through control of operation of the PTZ camera module. The photographed image information is transmitted to a monitoring module(40) at a remote location.
