PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crossing lighting system capable of saving electricity by suppressing power consumption, and capable of reducing discomfort of residents near the crossing not only for saving electricity as a measure for preventing suicides. SOLUTION: First light sources (second light source)11-14 of the crossing lighting system 10 are light-emitting diodes to achieve a dimming control. The output of the first light sources 11-14 is 100% when a train 5 passes at the crossing 4. Meanwhile, the illuminance at places where a road 1 crosses the crossings 2, 3 is made higher than usual, the output of the first light sources 11-14 is made down to the extent of 70% at a normal time when the train 5 does not pass.
