PURPOSE: A hydroxy methoxy benzochalcone compound is provided to restrain growth of cancer cells and induce apoptosis of cancer cells by increasing the amount t of protein p21 which suppresses cell cycle progress. CONSTITUTION: A hydroxy methoxy benzochalcone DK59 compound is represented by chemical formula 1. A manufacturing method of the compound comprises a step of dissolving 1-hydroxy-2-acetonaphthone and 3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde into an organic solvent and adding a basic solution to the same; a step of stirring the basic solution mixture at room temperature and neutralizing the solution mixture in ice water; a step of extracting the solution by non-polar solvent; a step of drying and filtering the extracted organic layer; removing the solvent from the residual solution; and purifying the residue by column chromatography. |
