Demultiplexing or multiplexing method for transmitting/receiving on N channels (C i ) with capacity (C i ) a flow (F TX ) comprising, in a time unit T, an assigned quantity of basic units (Uj) of digital signals not greater than the sum (C TOT ) of the single transmission capacities (C i ) of the channels (C i ), comprising the following steps:
- defining at least: a basic unit of information (Uj), a time unit (T), a time unit clock (CKU) and a transition clock (CKT);
- identifying the channel (C max ) with maximum capacity (C max ) ;
- defining N-1=M status counters (V i ), each associated with a corresponding channel C i except for the channel (C max ) with maximum capacity (C max ) ;
- defining N-1=M status variables (S i ), each associated with a corresponding channel (C i ) except for the channel (C max ) with maximum capacity (C max ) ;
- defining an overflow value (OF) = C max;
- if at least one status variable S i is equal to 1, assigning the basic unit (Uj)of current information to the corresponding channel (C i ) for transmission;
- zeroing the current status variable S i (S i =0) ;
- if all the status variables are equal to zero (S i =0) assigning the current basic unit (U J ) to the channel C max and incrementing each status counter (V i ) by a value equal to the corresponding value C i , obtaining a result R i = V i + Ci;
- for each status counter V i which reaches, or exceeds, the overflow value OF = (C max ) :
- the corresponding status variable S i is set to 1 and the calculated value VC=(R i -OF) is entered into the counter V i ;
- at the next transition clock (CKT), repeating the sequence, extracting the next basic unit of information U j+1 from the flow F tx and activating the channel C i , on the basis of the existing status variables S i .
|
