PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel reforming catalyst capable of stably promoting a fuel reforming reaction over a long period and maintaining a high-efficiency hydrogen generation, and to provide a method for production thereof.SOLUTION: The fuel reforming catalyst is used for generating a reformed gas including hydrogen from the whole of or a part of an exhaust gas and a fuel. The catalyst contains at least one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of zirconia (ZrO), lanthania (LaO), ceria (CeO), alumina (AlO) and magnesia (MgO), at least one metal component selected from the group consisting of platinum (Pt), rhodium (Rh), palladium (Pd) and nickel (Ni), and silicon dioxide (SiO). The silicon dioxide disperses on the surface of the catalyst including the above metal oxide and metal component as the particles having an average primary particle size of 4-20 nm. |
