PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing system and a lens barrel that enable a user to arbitrarily select any functions of a touch panel provided on the lens barrel and customize them.SOLUTION: The photographing system comprises: a touch panel 29 provided on a lens barrel 20 and configured to detect a touched state; function icons 6f provided on a camera body 10 and indicating a plurality of functions; and a body side display part 6 configured to display a selection pattern 6e. When the connection of the function icon 6f and the selection pattern 6e by the touch operation is detected based on the detection result of the touch panel 29, the touch panel 29 and function icon 6f are correlated.
