The present invention provides a method for parallel-processing entropy encoding and decoding techniques with a plurality of processors. According to the present invention, disclosed is a method for encoding comprising the steps of: sequentially entropy-encoding a first block column from blocks having a predetermined size as a result of dividing and encoding an image; determining initial entropy coding probability information of a first block in a second block column as entropy coding probability information that is renewed by a block in a fixed position in the first block column; sequentially entropy-encoding continuous blocks in the second block column on the basis of the initial entropy coding probability information; and initializing internal status information of an entropy-encoded bit stream of the first block column, after entropy-encoding is completed on the last block in the first block column.
