Embodiments of the present invention are for use in implementing load balancing among base stations in a communication network comprising LTE standard base stations. Disclosed are a load balancing method and a related device. The method of the embodiments of the present invention comprises: a radio resource management (RRM) server acquiring load information reported by the base stations, where the base stations comprise long term evolution (LTE) standard base stations; determining an overloaded base station among the base stations; determining a target base station on the basis of the load information, where the target base station is the base station for sharing the load of the overloaded base station; and instructing the overloaded base station and the target base station to perform load balancing.
