PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layout of receiving/vibrating points for an elastic wave exploration facilitating reading of initial motions of an S wave and a surface wave, and provide a method for the elastic wave exploration.SOLUTION: A layout A of receiving/vibrating points for elastic wave exploration includes: a vibrating point group 10 consisting of a plurality of vibrating points 1, 1, ... aligned at some intervals apart; and a rear receiving point 2 provided at a position separated from the vibrating point group 10. When a P-wave propagation velocity in an exploration object ground is V, an S-wave propagation velocity is V, a surface wave propagation velocity is V, a P-wave prevailing wavelength is λ, and an S-wave prevailing wavelength is λ, a separation L between a vibrating point 1 closest to the rear receiving point 2 and the rear receiving point 2 satisfies the following expressions: L>V*λ/(V-V) and L>V*λ/(V-V). |
