<p>PURPOSE: A demand reaction system and a method thereof are provided to segment real-time charges of consumers into tight index sections in a relatively high index price range, thereby improving the effectiveness of demand response control. CONSTITUTION: A first set of data including charge data per unit power by time slot from a start time point to an end time point is generated (S10). A second set of data including power usage data of consumers by time slot from the start time point to the end time point is generated (S20). A third set of data including index price data of consumers by time slot from the start time point to the end time point is generated (S30). The third set of data is segmented into multiple index sections (S40). Using real-time charge data per unit power by time slot and real-time power usage data of consumers, real-time charge amount of consumers is calculated (S50). If the real-time charge amount exists in an index section, a DR signal corresponding to the index section is generated (S60). According to the DR signal, household appliances are controlled (S70).
