PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to improve cooling performance and capacity by passing refrigerant through only one plate type heat exchanger while cooling. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises a compressor(2), a heat exchanger(4), a first plate type heat exchanger(10), a second plate type heat exchanger(11), an expansion unit, a reversing valve, and a fluid passage varying unit(50). The fluid passage varying unit flows the refrigerant which is expanded by the expansion unit after passing only a first refrigerant fluid passage into the reversing valve while cooling. The fluid passage varying unit flows the refrigerant which sequentially passes the first and second refrigerant fluid passages into the expansion unit while heating. |
