The invention relates to a device for opening a panel (20) on a sales counter (10) which comprises a basic counter structure (11), wherein the panel (20) is arranged, in particular, on the front side (12) of the sales counter (11). At least a first profile (21), in or on which the panel (20) can be retained, is provided, as is at least one second profile (13), which can be secured on the basic counter structure (11). The first profile (21), with the panel (20), can be pivoted away from the basic counter structure (11) by means of a control part (30). The panel (20) has a closed position (20.2), in which it closes the basic counter structure (11) from the front side (12) of the sales counter (10), and an open position (20.1), in which it is pivoted away from the basic counter structure (11). The invention, then, proposes to provide a control part (30) which has its one end (31) articulated on the first profile (21) and has its other end (32) articulated on the second profile (13) or on the basic counter structure (11), wherein the first profile (21) is articulated in a displaceable manner, at its one outer end (22), on the second profile (13).
