PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for forming a gas barrier material capable of forming a gas barrier material having excellent gas barrier property, retort resistance, transparency and flexibility, enabling curing at a lower temperature in a short time and capable of enhancing productivity without affecting to a plastic base body. SOLUTION: The composition for forming the gas barrier material contains a polycarboxylic acid based polymer (A), and at least two-functional alicyclic epoxy compound (B).
