<p>A process of fabricating an actuator element is provided. In the process, a dielectric elastomer film having first and second sides is provided. An electrode material is applied on a portion of the first and second side of the dielectric elastomer film. A compressive material is applied to the first side of the dielectric elastomer film. The present process may be employed for producing improved monolithic actuator elements such as configurable buttons, arrays of buttons, and the like.</p> |
