PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate complicated selection operations by a user by selecting an input automatically depending on data quality.SOLUTION: An image display device according to an embodiment has: a first reception part receiving a first broadcast signal broadcasted via a predetermined transmission path to obtain a first stream of contents; a second reception part receiving a second broadcast signal transmitted via a communication line to obtain a second stream for contents the same as the above contents; a data quality detector detecting data qualities of the first and second broadcast signals; a selector generating a selection signal for switching over to and selecting a broadcast signal whose data quality is not degraded, of the first and second broadcast signals, on the basis of the detection result of the data quality detector; and a switching part supplying a stream based on the broadcast signal selected by the selector, of the first and second streams, to an image processing part performing image processing, on the basis of the selection signal. |
