PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision damage reducing system so as not to perform automatic stopping or restarting of an engine by an idling stop system when operating the collision damage reducing system.SOLUTION: This collision damage reducing system is mounted on a vehicle having an idling stop control means 6 for performing stopping control of the engine when a predetermined engine automatic stopping condition is satisfied in an decelerating stage of one's own vehicle 1, and avoids a collision with an obstacle in the advancing direction of the one's own vehicle 1 by controlling an automatic brake by the satisfaction of a predetermined collision avoiding condition. The collision damage reducing system includes a determining means 5 for determining the collision possibility between the one's own vehicle 1 and the obstacle, and an idling stop prohibiting means 13 for prohibiting the stopping control of the engine by the idling stop control means 6 when the determining means 5 determines that the collision possibility between the one's own vehicle 1 and the obstacle is high before starting control of the automatic brake. |
