The component (10) has stator segments (13), which form together a stator ring (11). The stator segments forms stator tooth metal sheets (16) that are arranged one above the other. The stator segments are connected by welds (28). The stator tooth metal sheets of the stator segments are made of two different materials, where one of the materials is weldable. The materials are used for the stator tooth metal sheets, where one material comprises better weldability and other material comprises better magnetic properties. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a stator component.
