The device (1) is provided with liquid gases, where the gas mixture (2) is determined for combustion in an engine (19), and the gas mixture is supplied from a gas tank (3). A temperature sensor (8) is provided for measuring the temperature of the liquid gas mixture. A pressure sensor (9) is provided for measuring the pressure of gas mixture in the gas tank. The temperature sensor and the pressure sensor are connected to the gas mixture recognition module (7). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for determining the mixture ratio of a liquid gas mixture; and (2) a method for controlling of an engine.
