An electromagnetic transducer and housing comprises a transducer 31 mounted in the cavity of a housing 17 having a rectangular opening 12 the same length as the pole faces 23 of the transducer and a width somewhat greater than the width of the pole faces, adhesive means 35 fastening the transducer to the inside of the housing, and a cover-plate 18 to the housing having a portion projecting into the rectangular opening 12 to form an effective clamp for the polepieces of the transducer. The two halves 34 of the magnetic core are made of ferrite, are - spaced by a shim of silver or other highly conductive material, and are secured in the desired relative position by an epoxy resin-glass adhesive, preferably comprising a mixture in the proportions 25 per cent resin: 75 per cent glass beads. The coils 28 are wound directly on to the core members 34 which are first given a coating of the above mentioned epoxy resinglass adhesive. |
