PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matte coated paper for printing that has low white paper glossiness and is excellent in scratch-proof and stain-proof properties. SOLUTION: A matte coated paper for printing is provided with a coating layer comprising a binder and a matting agent on a base paper. As the binder, an acrylic resin or an acrylic styrene copolymer having a minimum film-forming temperature of 10°C or lower is used. As the matting agent, an acrylic based resin is used and the content of the acrylic based resin based on the binder is 30 wt.% or more in terms of solid content. The coating layer preferably contains a polyolefin based resin having a particle diameter of 9μm to 20μm in a solid content of 2.5 wt.% to 7.5 wt.% based on the binder as a lubricant. As the base paper, a base paper having a smoothness of less than 100 seconds, a bulk density of 0.60 g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>to 0.85 g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, and ten-point average roughness Rz of 20μm to 50μm is preferably used.
