PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the difficulty in cutting of a patterned retardation film having a minute pattern and alignment between the patterned retardation film and another optical element.SOLUTION: A patterned retardation film has a display pixel region to be laminated on a display pixel part of an image display device. The display pixel region is so patterned that first retardation regions and second retardation regions different from each other in at least one of in-plane slow axis or retardation are alternately arranged like stripes, and boundary parts are located between the first retardation regions and the second retardation regions, and at least one of the boundary parts is a reference boundary part which has a width different from that of the other boundary parts.
