PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract an image of a document, read wholly among a plurality of documents fed partially one over another, more securely.SOLUTION: An image reader performs: multi-feeding detection processing for detecting multi-feeding of documents M; edge detection processing for detecting edges 51-54 representing sides of documents extending in a direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of the documents from one image 50 generated by reading a group of the plurality of documents M fed partially one over another when multi-feeding is detected through the multi-feeding detection processing; image extraction processing for extracting an area 57 having the largest interval with an adjacent edge in the one image 50; and output processing for outputting the area extracted through the image extraction processing. |
