PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tractor unit in which a plurality of tractors for carrying a recording medium are available in a recording device and the tractors can be changed over by a simple operation, and the recording device.SOLUTION: The recording device includes a tractor unit including a plurality of tractor modules 101, 102 and 103 in a printer body 10, and also includes a tractor driving gear 96, a moving mechanism for moving the tractor driving gear 96, and a first conveyance part 50 for carrying the recording medium to a recording head 31. The respective tractor modules 101, 102 and 103 include driven gears 151, 152 and 153, and the tractor.
