PURPOSE: An absorbent for selectively absorbing carbon monoxide and a manufacturing method of the same are provided to have superior selectivity and an absorption property with respect to carbon monoxide while keeping copper in a carrier stable and to prevent the oxidation of the copper in the process of manufacturing the absorbent. CONSTITUTION: In an absorbent for selectively absorbing carbon monoxide, copper and cobalt are carried in a carrier. The carrier is at least one selected from a group including porous alumina, zeolite, and silica. A manufacturing method of the absorbent includes the steps of: manufacturing a carrier which carries cobalt; immersing the carrier into a solution containing a copper precursor and a reducing agent; carrying the copper precursor into the carrier; and drying the carrier carrying the copper precursor and cobalt, and plasticizing the carrier.
