APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MEASURING PURITY OF HOT SLAB

PURPOSE: A device and a method for measuring the cleanliness of a hot slab are provided to measure non-metallic oxide inclusions and precipitates existed inside the hot slab online. CONSTITUTION: A device (10) for measuring the cleanliness of a hot slab includes a torch unit (11), a light receiving unit (13), a spectrum unit (15), and an operation processing unit (17). The torch unit radiates flames to the front surface of the slab. The light receiving unit receives optical signals emitted from the flames radiated by the torch unit to the slab. The spectrum unit splits property spectra and measures the same based on the flame information transmitted by optical signals via the light receiving unit. The property spectra are generated by combusting inclusions and precipitates existed inside the slab. The operation processing unit measures the intensity of the wavelength of the property spectra measured by the spectrum unit, thereby calculating the sizes of the inclusions and precipitates.
