PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tatami mat surface capable of making a decorative tatami mat which is almost purely Japanese-style and is elegant.SOLUTION: Colored rushes are mixed at random into natural rushes at the rate of 1/10 to 1/1000. The term "colored" here means coloring which is different from the natural color, such as coloring into various colors including white color, and decoloring. The "colored rushes" can be: ones obtained by coloring the natural rushes; ones obtained by coloring paper rushes (paper strings); ones obtained by coating core materials with colorless transparent or colored transparent films; and ones obtained by winding thin yarns around the core materials. |
