PURPOSE: A device and a method for self-diagnosing to automatically inform an accident are provided to verify a function to automatically inform the accident without an airbag signal generating simulator and an airbag control unit (ACU). CONSTITUTION: A device and a method for self-diagnosing to automatically inform an accident comprise an airbag button (110), an MCU (120), a circuit unit (130), and a CPU (140). The MCU outputs an airbag generating signal from a control signal according to the operation of an operator from the airbag button. The circuit unit outputs a pulse signal by changing a high section and a low section to a predetermined section by corresponding to the spreading operation of an airbag according to the collision of a vehicle from a predetermined section by being correspondent to the normal operation when the airbag generating signal is inputted from the MCU. The CPU checks the high section and the low section of the pulse signal and performs an automatic function informing an accident when the high section and the low section are a predetermined section by corresponding to the spreading operation of the airbag.
