<p>The apparatus the storing data comprises a solid-state data storage device (SSD) 2, 3, 4, 5 and a printed circuit board (PCB) 9 upon which the SSD is mounted. The apparatus also comprises means for causing physical damage to the SSD if a predetermined condition is met, the means for causing physical damage being located beneath the SSD. The means for causing physical damage is preferably located in a hole through the PCB 9. The means for causing physical damage is preferably a highly energetic material, e.g. an explosive, or a hydraulic or pneumatic piston. The predetermined condition may be removal of a GSM signal or the disturbance, removal or addition of a connector within the apparatus.</p> |
