PURPOSE: A continuous casting apparatus with a cooling unit is provided to produce a droplet, which has momentum capable of going through stable evaporation layer, and to increase the thermal transferring rate according to the droplet, thereby improving cooling function. CONSTITUTION: A continuous casting apparatus includes a mold and a cooling unit. A slab is formed in the mold by half-curing molten steel, which is transferred from a tundish, in a specific form. The cooling unit cools the transferred slab from the mold. The cooling unit includes a coolant supplying tank (7), a nozzle (5), and an electric potential difference forming unit. The coolant supplying tank accommodates the coolant for cooling the slab. The nozzle is connected with the coolant supplying tank, and the coolant is sprayed to the slab. The electric potential difference forming unit forms the electric potential difference between the coolant and the slab which is sprayed from the nozzle.
