PURPOSE: A position control device of induction heating coil is provided to have a position control unit which uses a measured plate strain value to calculate a plate strain angle of a steel plate, and to use a calculated plate strain angle to control the position of the induction heating coil. CONSTITUTION: A position control device of induction heating coil includes a measuring unit(10) and a position controller(20). The measuring unit measures a plate strain value of a steel plate(1) on an inlet side part and an outlet side part of an induction heating coil(40). The position controller uses the measured plate strain value to calculate a plate strain angle of the steel plate, and use the calculated plate strain angle to control the position of the induction heating coil. An alarming unit(30) issues an alarm in case the plate strain angle is more than a predetermined value. The measuring unit outputs the difference of distance between a predetermined standard position and the edge position of the steel plate as the plate strain value.
