PURPOSE: A method for damping the vibration of an elevator is provided to damp the vibration of the elevator using the frequency analysis of torque ripple, thereby improving riding comfort. CONSTITUTION: A method for damping the vibration of an elevator is as follows. When torque ripple is generated in a motor, a current controller(10) controls the torque ripple to be inputted as a reference current of the motor. The current controller comprises a feedforward compensation controller(20). The feedforward compensation controller analyzes sensed torque current and feeds the analyzed torque ripple back to a reference current.
