Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, a device and a system for service implementation during a failure of a media gateway controller. The method comprises: an edge access controller receiving a service message sent by a media gateway controlled by a first media gateway controller; and when the edge access controller detecting a failure of the first media gateway controller, the edge access controller sending a switching instruction to the media gateway so that the media gateway initiates a registration request to a second media gateway controller; or the edge access controller replacing an identifier of the media gateway in the received service message with an identifier of the edge access controller, and initiating a registration request carrying the identifier of the edge access controller to the second media gateway controller, thereby recovering a user service of the media gateway in time.
