A milk processing facility is constructed by providing a permanent base having foundations (1) with electricity, water and drainage means inÂstalled, and then transporting a prefabricated building of the type having a solid framed base and reinforced outer to the permanent base, securing the building and connecting pre-installed services to the building. The prefabricated building has pre-installed machinery capable of processing raw milk product into milk product for human consumption and is lifted onto a means of transport for transport to the location of the permanent base by road, air, rail or sea. The milk processing machinery is connected to the services once the building is in position on the permanent base. The facility may include more than one building and the buildings may be connected to each other as modules. Each building may be interchangeable with another like building. The machinery may be installed in more than one location within the building. The foundations may comprise a hole in the ground filled with concrete or a plurality of concrete ground members. The services may be installed in predetermined locations. |
