Provided are an absorptive article less deformable at ends thereof, snugly fitting on a wearer, and highly absorptive, and a method of producing the absorptive article. An absorptive article having at least a liquid-permeable sheet, a liquid-impermeable sheet, an absorbing body sandwiched between the liquid-permeable sheet and the liquid-impermeable sheet. The absorbing body comprises a first absorbing section and a second absorbing section which is formed substantially at the center of the first absorbing body and has a smaller area than the first absorbing section. Pressed grooves are continuously formed in a substantially closed shape so as to extend from peripheral edge regions in the longitudinal direction of the second absorbing section to the first absorbing section. |
