[Also in Group XXXVI] A terminal connector comprises a plate 1, a rear portion 1a of which is apertured to receive a terminal screw 4 and a front portion 1b of which is separated from the rear portion by a transverse cut 2 and bent at right-angles to the rear portion. A second plate 8 is attached to portion 1b by a pin 9 which carries a spring 10 pressing the plates together to form a socket for receiving a fuse or switch blade. The connector is mounted in a channel-shaped insulating base 12, Fig. 2, by passing portion 1b under a bridge portion 12d, slotted at 14 for this purpose, until the head 4a of terminal screw 4 locates in a recess 12c whereupon a tongue 1f on the upper edge of portion 1b is displaced against the side of portion 12d to retain the connector. Several such connectors may be incorporated in a junction-box adapted to plug into a conduit (see Group XXXVI). Specification 916,766 is referred to.</p> |
