<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization dependent type optical isolator which is simple in structure, can prevent damage due to light and heat and can obtain a high extinction ratio. <P>SOLUTION: In a polarization dependent type optical isolator, an incident side lens (a first lens) 5, a first birefringent part 7, a Faraday rotator 9, a second birefringent part 11 and an emission side lens (a second lens) 15 are arranged from an incident side to an emission side. The polarization dependent type optical isolator 1 is connected with optical fibers 3 and 17 on the incident side to the emission side, respectively. In a polarization dependent type optical isolator, a wedge angle θ1 of the first birefringent part 7 is different from a wedge angle θ2 of the second birefringent part 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
