PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glare detection device and a method therefor, and a glare blocking system and a method therefor.

SOLUTION: The glare detection device comprises: image photographing means for photographing a face image of a driver; eye area detection means for detecting an eye area in the face image of the driver photographed by the image photographing means; face area detection means for detecting a face area in the face image of the driver photographed by the image photographing means; incidence area detection means for detecting an area on which a direct light beam is incident (hereinafter, incidence area) in the face area detected by the face area detection means; and glare detection means for determining that the driver has felt glare in accordance with superposition of the incidence area detected by the incidence area detection means on the eye area detected by the eye area detection means.
