The transfer case assembly (1) has planetary gears (7,8) which are controlled by an actuator (6), arranged with respect to central axis (5). The planetary gears are formed with connecting shafts (34-36,34'-36'). The connecting shaft (36) of the planetary gear (7) is operatively connected with respect to connecting shaft (36') of the planetary gear (8) via the actuating drive portion (25). The ring gears (9,13) of planetary gears are coupled to the machine elements (17,24) via drive shaft (2). The rotational axis of the drive shaft is aligned parallel to central axis.
