836,140. Rotary tool-heads. BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE A.G. April 18, 1957 [April 20, 1956], No. 12774/57. Class 83 (3). A rotary tool-head for milling, drilling- machines and the like comprises a base-plate secured for rotation with the machine-spindle, a tool-slide mounted for radial movement on the base-plate, and a fluid-pressed doubleacting piston and cylinder slide-actuating means, with fluid conduits in the base-plate for conducting pressure-fluid to these means. The base 3 and oil reservoir 11 of the attachment are secured to the spindle 1 of a drilling- machine. A radial tool-slide 6 slides in dovetail guides on the base 3, and has feed-andreturn cylinders 23, 24, respectively, integral therewith. Fixed pistons 8, 9 radiating from a central-boss engage the cylinders. A pistonoil-pump 12 operated by a cam-ring 21 secured to a fixed part of the machine supplies pressureoil to feed the tool-slide. The cylinder 24 is supplied from an external source with compressed-air, through the channel 10 to effect a back-pressure against the pump and to return the slide to its initial position when the return valve 18 is opened. |
