PURPOSE: A method for preparing granular activated carbon with enhanced meso-pores is provided to improve the physical characteristic of the granular activated carbon by immersing materials for the granular activated carbon in a hydrofluoric acid solution and calcinating the immersed granular activated carbon under inert gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing granular activated carbon with enhanced meso-pores includes the following: materials for granular activated carbon are immersed in a hydrofluoric acid solution; and the immersed granular activated carbon is calcinated under inert gas atmosphere. The hydrofluoric acid solution is the aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid and is the mixture of hydrofluoric acid, alcohol, and water. The alcohol is ethanol. The inert gas is helium. |
