PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy storage substance producing apparatus capable of improving the production efficiency of an energy storage substance by precisely controlling the metabolism of microorganisms producing and accumulating the energy storage substance.

SOLUTION: The energy storage substance producing apparatus 1 includes a culture solution 4; a first electrode 2 in contact with the culture solution 4; a second electrode 3 which is a gas diffusion electrode in contact with the culture solution 4; microorganisms existing in the culture solution 4 and producing and accumulating the energy storage substance by metabolism; a substance taking part in the metabolism of the microorganisms; and an electric resistance control means for controlling an electric resistance value between the first electrode and the second electrode outside the culture solution.
